V utorok 23. januára oznámili nominácie na Ceny akadémie. Deväťdesiaty šiesty ročník podľa očakávaní výrazne ovládla snímka Christophera Nolana Oppenheimer s 13 nomináciami. Druhý najúspešnejší v nomináciách je film Poor Things s 11 nomináciami. Dráma Martina Scorseseho Killers of the Flower Moon získala 10 nominácií. Letný blockbuster Barbie si vyslúžil osem nominácií.
